our history...
Back in 1994 some students from Purdue University that were reached and touched by leaders of City Blessing churches initiated a small fellowship in Chicago. In about a year, as they grew in number, the need to have a local church grew stronger. Chicago City Blessing Church, which previously existed as a small fellowship of families and students that moved from house to house every Sunday evening was then established on November 12th, 1995 at Rogers Park Lutheran Church in Rogers Park, Illinois. This establishment was also acknowledged by Indonesian General Consulate in Chicago. We congregated in Rogers Park Lutheran Church building until late 1998, when the building was converted into a local school facility. We subsequently moved to Northwest Baptist Church in Chicago until year 2000.Because of a policy change in Northwest Baptist Church, we had to move out again and find another place for our worship service. We moved to various hotels in the Rosemont area while looking for a more permanent place to accommodate our members. Finally after couple months of searching, we found a more permanent place for our worship service at Wyndham OHare Hotel. After nearly a decade, the hotel management informed us that they were planning to close the hotel down permanently. We ended our 10-year tenancy at the hotel with a New Years eve service and celebration on 12/31.
